A Most Violent Year
Directed by J.C. Chandor

While the acting may be superb, the story just isn't there.
The movie kicks off by cultivating itself into, what you think, is going to be an explosion. The crescendo heightens, reaching for its wondrous finale, aaaand you're left with shit.
While it technically does leave you with a resolve, it doesn't leave you with the climax you were after. It leaves you wanting more, but not in a good way.
After watching this I felt dirty and used up. Like a two dollar whore. And Much like a two dollar whore sometimes there IS no climax.
Sometimes you just gotta play the cards you're dealt and hope that your next two dollars lands better.
The only reason this movies even breathing is because my girl Jessica Chastain carried this shit on her back, ON HER BACK!
Recast it and re-film it. I'll give it a better review with her as the lead.
